about

Nottingham's George Gadd + the Aftermath play an eclectic hybrid of folk, emo and punk (or in their words "folk punk for punk folk"). Their heart on sleeve singalong songs usually rouse a crowd which is further complimented by Gadd's unique sense of humour. Throughout the years, George has picked up support slots playing alongside the likes of The Front Bottoms, Ferocious Dog, Charlie Simpson, Kevin Devine, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. and The Xcerts.

'Last Orders' and 'CVG' are energetic, bouncy and aggressive with the band channeling scrappier influences like Joyce Manor, The Get Up Kids and Los Campesinos!.

To help achieve this rawer punk sound, the band enlisted Phil Booth (JT Soar) and Rich Collins (Snug Recording) to engineer and mix the songs as their previous work had included Martha, Toodles & the Hectic Pity.

'Last Orders' takes a long, hard look in the mirror with a chorus which screams "it's not selfish to wanna get better". The song's lyrical themes of redemption, reflection and healing take the forefront over a backdrop of bratty distorted guitars and aggressive drums.
